Capability validation — not a production deployment
Testing AI-assisted Process Excellence against a banking operations case
Leania’s founder worked directly with senior Process Engineering and Automation stakeholders inside a global bank to explore how AI could assist structured process-improvement analysis.
Requirements were gathered and a working demonstrator was developed around a representative banking operations workflow. The work tested whether operational evidence could be converted into a structured, reviewable improvement case while keeping practitioner challenge and decision authority explicit.
Stakeholder feedback informed subsequent work on business-user usability, evidence traceability, richer problem framing and intervention decision support. This is validation evidence, not realised-benefit proof.
The setting
A global bank was exploring how AI could support its Process Engineering capability.
The capability question explored
Can AI reduce the effort required to turn operating evidence into a review-ready improvement case without weakening practitioner oversight?
This is the question the work explored. It is not a measure the bank agreed or a result it reported.
What was built and tested
A working demonstrator, now a capability Leania’s team uses inside its consulting work, covering the path from a raised problem to a decision-ready output:
- Structured intake
- Baseline and performance analysis
- Where performance problems concentrate
- Candidate-driver and hypothesis analysis
- Practitioner review and challenge
- Intervention options
- Economic scenario
- Decision-ready output
Who decided
The practitioner remained responsible for validating evidence, challenging findings and deciding whether an intervention was justified.
What the feedback reinforced
Feedback and subsequent testing reinforced the need for:
- An executive-first experience for business users
- Methodological depth for experts
- Material claims traceable to evidence
- Hypotheses kept distinct from validated findings
- Multiple measures and drivers, not a single number
- Explicit challenge and decision authority on every recommendation
What this shows, and what it does not
This work demonstrates requirements discovery, working capability demonstration and enterprise stakeholder feedback. It does not represent a production deployment, realised-benefit case or client endorsement.
No realised-benefit banking case is currently published.
